KATHY J., Sales ManagerKathy is a native Floridian, born and raised on the west coast in St. Petersburg. A graduate of Florida State University, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Kathy is a certified interior decorator and has been a member of the Babette’s sales staff since 2003. As Sales Manager, she is responsible for a professional team of sales consultants and design specialists. While working for Babette’s, Kathy earned her title of Sales Specialist through The Interior Design Society. Having grown up the daughter of a general contractor, Kathy has a natural gift for space planning. Her passion is working closely with her customers to come up with the ideal placement of furniture that will maximize space and create a cohesive flow throughout a house. Kathy lives with her husband in a beautiful custom-built wood home on 40 acres. She is truly one with nature; her “pets” are a family of deer and birds. Although they keep their distance, the animals know that they get breakfast every morning and are eagerly awaiting the sound of the screen door on the porch.
TIM M., Sales Manager
Originally from Warwick, Rhode Island, Tim left the Ocean state for the Sunshine state in 2007. With his degree in Fine Arts he started his furniture career with Sears Homelife. After seven years as a furniture consultant he was promoted to a store manager. Finishing a 20 year run with Sears, he decided it was time to go back to his true passion, furniture. "The people are from all over the country, from the native Floridian, the fellow New Englander, the Midwesterner, the Southeasterner and don't forget the New Yorkers." He finds it fascinating to meet new people daily from all over and to help them make their stay here as pleasant as his has been. "I find that Babette's offers a great selection, in a unique relaxed atmosphere, where the client can make an informative decision without any pressure, what's not to love?"
ROBIN B., Sales
Robin is a Lake County native, born, raised and currently residing in Umatilla. With a degree in Marketing and Design, Robin started her career in floral design. After working for a local florist, she opened her own business in Mount Dora, specializing in fresh and silk floral arrangements, unique and eclectic furnishings and custom picture framing. She stays current with the trends by taking classes, one of which took her to Las Vegas for a course in colors and palette layering. At Babette’s, Robin is not only a design consultant, she is the floral designer as well, creating beautiful arrangements for the store and custom orders for customers. When asked her favorite part of her job, she quickly answers that it’s the relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere and serene environment, both of which put customers at ease. Robin’s flair for color and eye for design are what customers are drawn to and what keeps them returning when it’s time to furnish their next room. Time off finds her among friends and family, including her two children. As they, her customers and coworkers can attest, Robin loves to laugh and have fun, making it impossible not to thoroughly enjoy the furniture buying experience.
SHARON A., Sales
Originally from Biddeford, Maine, Sharon headed west for San Francisco, California to attend Cañada College, where she earned a degree in Residential Interior Design. Her career brought her to Florida in 1998, where she managed an upscale candle and accessories boutique. After a few years, Sharon became a home stager, preparing private residences for sale in the real estate marketplace. Soon thereafter, she opened Smart Stagers Training Company. It was during this time, when she would bring clients to Babette’s Furniture, that she realized her next career move. Sharon enjoys helping her customers bring their ideas and visions to life. She does her best to create a room that reflects its owners’ personalities, through color selection, accessories and design. Crowned “Queen of Clermont” by a coworker, she plans on expanding the Babette’s “kingdom” to include many more Clermont residents. Away from Babette’s, Sharon loves to travel with her husband and spend time with her daughter and grandson, as well as her dog, Kai.
RICHARD A., Sales
Richard was born and raised in Rome, New York. After graduating from Paul Smith’s College in 1979, Richard was hired on to Disney World straight out of college as a supervisor. Currently he resides in Sullivan Ranch in Mount Dora with his fiancée and son. Before joining the team at Babette’s, he worked for Robb & Stucky Interiors designing everything from grand homes to downtown condominiums. Richard is the kind of person you want working for you to help put together all the pieces to make your house a home. The key to his success is listening to customers and determining what will work in their design style. During Richard’s free time he loves to go hiking, biking, and just generally travelling. His favorite mode of transportation is cruising. At Babette’s, Richard serves as the ‘unofficial social coordinator.’
DORIS D., Sales
Doris joined our team in July of 2014. Doris was a realtor and stager in Chagrin Falls, OH for 20 years. She moved to the Sunshine State in 2000 to follow her equestrian interests. She began working as a designer and development sales for a developer near The Villages. She has worked for several local furniture stores and is certified with the Retail Design Institute. She enjoys living in The Villages with her husband, Philip and dogs. Doris’ daughter graduated from the University of Florida which brings her family around the television in the fall for some Gator football. She loves working with clients and creating a welcoming environment in each home.
JASON P., Sales
Jason was born and raised in Central New York, Sherrill, the smallest city in New York state, among the pine trees and horse farms. He currently resides in Tavares, FL.. With a degree in Interior Architectural Design, Jason launched his career in Utica, NY with Joan's Draperies then, was quickly recruited to Hess's Department Stores as the Assistant Director of Home Furnishings. Jason has traveled from coast to coast attending furniture markets and staging furniture departments for store openings. After a taste of the West Coast, Jason settled in Monterey, CA for several years before moving back East near his parents in central FL. All the while keeping a pulse on the design industry, Jason started providing interior design services on a smaller scale. One day he brought his clients into Babette's. He then realized the potential opportunities to marry his clients needs with Babette's abundance of furniture and accessory offerings that reflect today's style and interests. Outside of Babette's, in his free time, he enjoys exploring the simple pleasure of life in Florida and spending time with his Min Pin doggies.
STEPHENIE M., Sales
Stephenie is an Ohio native, however has lived in the Eustis, FL area most of her life and completed her education here in Central Florida. Stephenie’ s entrepreneurial spirit led her into a career working with people as a staffing manager, leading a team in the service industry, and previously running a high volume mattress store for a nationwide chain. This makes her an vital asset to the Babette’s sales team. Her friendly persona and up beat spirit has created strong bonds with her clients, guests and customers. The key to Stephenie’ s success is being a passive listener; actually hearing and understanding what her guests needs truly are, while keeping their best interests at heart. Stephenie loves to help guests select furniture and accessories that make their homes beautiful, interesting, and inviting. She will make sure your choices are a reflection your own original style. When she is not working at Babette’s, Stephenie is cooking dinner, car pooling, helping with homework, kicking the soccer ball, or playing a video game. Stephenie is a single mother to her charming son, Dylan. Stephenie does find time for herself and that time is usually in the sand or surf.
MARCIA C., Sales
Marcia moved to Florida more than 25 years ago from Michigan. She has lived in the Lady Lake/Wildwood area and opened a dog grooming salon in Lady Lake where she groomed and styled many dogs from The Villages. She worked closely with the dog owners to make their dogs beautiful and happy. She sold her business and was trained as a residential designer for a furniture store in The Villages. She worked closely with clients there for more than 8 years when the business closed and she moved to Babette's. Marcia is a great listener who loves working closely with clients to help make their vision a reality by suggesting furniture that will turn their house into a home. When she is not working, Marcia enjoys going to the beach, boating, and motorcycle riding with her husband.
BARBARA M., Sales
Barbara was born and raised in Massachusetts to Polish immigrant parents. Once she earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, she married her husband and immediately relocated overseas for her husband's job in the Central Intelligence Agency where she also accepted a contract position to work alongside him. Along with their son and daughter, they lived in Germany, England, and Poland and had the good fortune of visiting several countries during their 17 year tenure. Eventually, Barbara and her family returned to the US and made California their home. Barbara decided to pursue a lifetime passion and returned to school to earn her Interior Design degree. Soon after, she became a member of the American Society of Interior Design and became a Master Designer, serving clients throughout northern California and the Lake Tahoe area. Barbara was featured several times on Good Morning Sacramento showcasing before and after room transformations and received several awards for excellence in design. Once the kids left the nest, Barbara, and her husband relocated from the Golden State to the Sunshine state and continues her love of interior design at Babette's. The best part of her job is meeting people from all over the US from all walks of life. Learning about them, their wants and needs, and identifying their personal style through inspiration pieces are the stepping stones in creating warm and inviting spaces. From conception to completion, Barbara dedicates herself to every customer to ensure their delight and satisfaction is ensured. When not "working", Barbara enjoys exploring new places with her husband, spending time with her kids and grandkids, and watching a good movie every now and then. She believes her job is the best "Hobby" she has and always keeps up to date with current design trends.
KIMBERLY G., Sales
Kimberly was born and raised in Connecticut and just recently moved to The Villages in order to be closer to family. While she misses Connecticut, she's enjoying the beautiful Florida sunshine and enjoys watching snowstorms from a distance on her TV. For over 28 years, Kimberly was an Artist Relations Manager in the music industry. Her clients consisted of major national and international touring bands like The Zak Brown Band, Guns 'n Roses, the Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, Barry Manilow, and many more; as well as celebrities like Harry Connick, Jr. and Billy Bob Thornton; and late night TV and award shows. Working with people is something she has always loved and now being part of a professional sales team at Babette's made her transition effortless. Don't let her quiet, sweet demeanor fool you... this lady has quite the story to tell!
